If you want to get away from your daily routines of work, school, sleep and eat then camping is a great choice. It provides the chance to experience nature to an extent that most people just can’t do everyday.

Tips on finding the best location for camping.
Before you can find a camping site that will be perfect for you it is necessary to find a great campground. Fortunately, the Internet has made this task a lot easier and many campgrounds now have websites. You can obtain information about various camping areas by visiting their websites prior to your stay; this gives you the opportunity to make an informed decision regarding which facility to choose.
Just remember that much like the pictures in a restaurant’s menu card, the campsites will always look nicer on “film” than they are when you see them in person.

Before you can choose a campsite you will need to know which type of camping you’ll be doing. When a campground offers “primitive camping”, it sounds intriguing, but what does that actually mean?
At a primitive campground you will have to provide everything that you need yourself. Prepare to bring everything from toilet paper to a first aid kit and from shelter to lots of water. Deep in the wilderness is were these primitive campsites are located, you’ll be hard pressed to find showers, (running) water, electricity, or toilets.

At the other end of the spectrum, you’ll come across campgrounds that provide connections for water, sewage, and electricity - all with a glorious natural backdrop. Some campgrounds even have spas!

The characteristics of most campgrounds, camping site amenities, location and cost, usually fall between these two extremes. Camping in private parks usually includes all the amenities you could possibly desire. Many even have laundry facilities, shops, and game rooms and they welcome long-term guests. The majority of private parks have family oriented activites for all including but not limited to bingo, sport competitions for children, fun games for the kids, human stratego, etc.

The Cost of Campgrounds
The fee to stay at a private park will be higher than renting a spot at a public campground. Modern campgrounds in state parks offer a variety of different setting from rustic tents to resort like cabins. Some of them offer electric, swimming pools, warm showers, toilet facilities, laundry rooms, areas for the children to play in, guided tours, etc.
State and national forest parks are normally fairly basic. Most of these will have pit toilets, picnic areas and fire rings. Thankfully, these campgrounds are very easy to afford. They may be absolutely free, or cost a mere few dollars a day.

Make your campground reservations early during good weather.
Note that during nice weather people tend to settle in early. If you want a premium spot you have to come early and get lucky.
Do you want a site near the pool and playground? Although it is an ideal site for kids it may be somewhat noisy due to pedestrian activity. The same holds true for sites located near showers or bathrooms. You may find foot traffic around your tent 24 hours a day!

Do you want a quiet, isolated setting or do you prefer to be in the midst of the hustle-bustle? With the wide variety of options camping offers there are sure to be features or activities that appeal to everyone; you will locate the perfect campground for you and your family.
